About the event
The event is organized by the FiumArt cultural association.
The symposium will be held in the ancient village of Fiumefreddo Bruzio on 26 and 27 June 2021, the event will have as main guest Dr. Carolyn Porco, NASA scientist and researcher, originally from Fiumefreddo, on this occasion the Municipal Administration will confer on Dr. Porco the honorary citizenship.
The title of the symposium will be “Women and the stars” the role of women in scientific space research.

Dr. Marica Branchesi Astrophysicist and Vice President of the International Astronomical Union.

Dr. Valentina Vladimirovna Tereskova Cosmonaut and Russian Politics (first woman in space)
The moderator of the event will be Dr. Rossella Panaresi, editor-in-chief of radio Rai 3 (radio science)

In addition to the Symposium, a temporary exhibition on space research will be held in collaboration with NASA, ESA and the city of stars in Russia, the exhibition will be set up in the exhibition halls of the Castello della Valle in Fiumefreddo Bruzio historic center and will last four months, from 28 June 2021 to 30 October 2021.

During the three days of the event, in collaboration with the Calabria Film Commission in co-production with Rai, a documentary film lasting 55 minutes will be shot within the exhibition | Space Adventure and the village of Fiumefreddo with the protagonists of the Symposium.
